Frequently Asked Questions
What does this cost our organization?
Nothing. On-Demand Pay through Branch is available at no cost to Lumber clients.
What does it cost workers?
Workers have two options:
- Standard transfer (2-business-day processing) — Free
- Instant transfer to a debit card — $4.50 or 6%, capped at $20, per advance
Does this affect our payroll process?
No. On-Demand Pay runs independently of your payroll cycle. Branch uses its own capital to fund advances, and repayment is pulled automatically based on each worker's direct deposit activity—not your payroll calendar.

Any W-2 worker whose employer has enabled the feature is eligible to enroll. Workers must be 18+ and will complete a brief identity verification during setup.

Workers can access up to $400 per pay period.
Is it available in our state?
Branch's EWA offering is available in 49 states. It is not currently available in Connecticut. State-specific fee caps may apply in Indiana, Maryland, and Wisconsin.
Where do workers go for support?
Branch provides direct support to workers at support.branchapp.com. Your team doesn't need to manage worker inquiries.
