Solutions Consultant
The Opportunity
As a Solutions Consultant at Lumber, you’ll be the technical and functional expert supporting our sales team. You’ll work directly with prospective customers to understand their business challenges, demonstrate how Lumber solves them, and architect tailored solutions that deliver measurable impact. Your role bridges product, sales, and customer success — translating complex construction workflows into clear, compelling stories that show the value of Lumber’s platform.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Account Executives to lead discovery sessions, understand client needs, and align solutions to business goals.
- Deliver compelling product demos customized to each prospect’s workflow (payroll, HR, time tracking, benefits, etc.).
- Translate customer requirements into clear solution designs and proposals.
- Support RFP responses, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to ensure a seamless handoff from sale to delivery.
- Stay current on product updates, construction compliance trends, and workforce management best practices.
- Represent Lumber as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert during sales cycles, trade shows, and industry events.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of workforce management, payroll, or construction operations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — you can simplify complex ideas and build trust quickly.
- Ability to lead discovery sessions and identify underlying pain points, not just surface-level needs.
- Tech-savvy, adaptable, and comfortable running live demos or configuring product workflows.
- Passion for helping clients modernize their construction operations through technology.
- Degree? Nice to have, not a must-have: If you’ve got the experience, skills, and can handle the right opportunities, we’re sold!

- 2+ years in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or sales engineering role — ideally within SaaS, HR tech, FinTech or construction tech.
